Chicken curry {lababdar} (north indian dish)
ingredients
- chicken 500 grams washed and cut into small pieces
- 4 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 4 medium sliced onions
- 2 medium sized tomato diced
- 100 ml curd
- 7-8 kaju
- 4 tbsp redchilli powder
- 4 tbsp coriander powder
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp chicken masala
- 2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp kasuri methi
- 2 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tsp green chill
- salt to taste
- 9-10 tbsp oil
- freshly chopped coriander leaves
step one: Marination process
- take the chicken pieces add salt, ginger garlic paste, 2 tbsp rechilli powder, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp garam masala, 1 tsp tumeric powder, little amount of lime jiuce and mix it well keep it aside for 1 hour.
step two: making the gravy paste
- take a kadai add 7-8 tbsp of oil, heat the oil, add the sliced onions cook it till it become golden brown and crunchy, keep it aside
- take a mixer jar add sliced tomato, fried onion, salt, ginger garlic paste, 2 tbsp rechilli powder, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp garam masala, 1 tsp tumeric powder and 7-8 kaju, cumin powder chicken masala, chopped green chilli.
- grind it into a paste (you can add water to make a paste)
- add curd into the mixer and mix the paste till it becomes smooth.
step three: fry the chicken
- in the same pan fry the chicken till it becomes soft and brown
step five: making curry
- in the same pan add 2 tbsp oil, add the paste and cook the paste till oil seperates
- add some water that the paste doesn't burn
- cook for 2 min
- add the chicken pieces and mix it gently
- add kasuri methi and chaat masala into the curry
- cook for five min in low flame
- add the remaning lime juice
- garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
